:: October Goings-On::

Hello friends and visitors; we have a few cool items of news to share with you as the leaves are falling.
First and foremost, Psychic Frost (the longtime collaboration of Matt McDowell + Mike Tamburo) has recently released a new album, Taking Lizard Mountain (By Frequency), on Pennsylvania's excellent Deep Water Acres. You can get one by contacting the label directly or by shooting an email to us at The artwork above is taken from the front cover (by JM).
Second, be sure to check out Plankton Wat's new LP, Drifter's Temple, a lovely album out now on Thrill Jockey that features a handful of guest musicians, including Matt on lap steel.
And last but not least, Jackie has also been recording and has finished a new collection of songs that is slated for release on vinyl down the road from Chicago's wonderful Hairy Spider Legs. Stay tuned for more info!

Biological Radio #17

Sun Cycles - Woods Creek Demos
Woods Creek Demos is a simple release of some songs we recorded at home on 6.10.13, basically a live practice for an upcoming show. We liked what we heard and felt good about it, so we collaborated on some artwork/packaging ideas and made a few physical copies to pass around this weekend at the Summer Solstice of Love. Then we thought, why not give it a catalog number, too? Hence, BR17 was born (in an edition of 10). Please enjoy these seven songs; you can pick up a digital copy here.

:: Summertime Rolls ::

We are soaking up the sun lately as this Oregon springtime winds up, and our front porch is bedecked with lawn chairs in anticipation of summer. To celebrate the approaching solstice, Sun Cycles is playing on Saturday, June 22 at Xhurch in Portland as part of a day-long musicfest curated by artists-in-residence Planets Around The Sun, who will also be playing along with other great locals White Gourd, Plankton Wat, and more. The event will also include installation art and food/drink (including a batch of our homebrewed wine, a strong dandelion-ginger recipe not for the faint of palette)! Locals, come on out.

Spring is here and so is Sleep By Day / Fly By Night by Inez Lightfoot, a new double release of four songs spread over two cassettes, one song per side. Bringing forty minutes of music specially composed to go hand in hand with a nature-themed experimental phototography collection by Ben North and Anna Kowalczyk, this is a multitracked album with lots of organ, steel-string acoustic guitar, mountain dulcimer, voice, electronics and some surprises tucked in there, too.
Recorded in early 2013 over the course of four days and nights by JM at home. Artwork by Ben North and Anna Kowalczyk. Order this special collaborative work now from Northern Twilights. Listen to side one here.
